How is the Maxima powered?

What powers the Maxima is a 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with an Xtronic continuously variable automatic transmission. This transmission is Nissan’s D-Step shift logic, which mimics a traditional automatic’s operation by allowing the revs to rise and fall when at full throttle. An available Sport mode adjusts throttle response, steering effort and transmission tuning. The car provides great fuel economy--up to 30 mpg highway and 21 mpg city--and also delivers smooth, quiet power to the front wheels. The vehicle will provide up to 300 horsepower @ 6,400 rpm and 261 lb-ft of torque @ 4,400 rpm. Premium, unleaded fuel is recommended for this car’s gas tank.

What are the Maxima’s standard features?

Standard on every 2018 Maxima are LED headlight and taillight accents. You can expect to have two USB ports, Bluetooth, Google search, and navigation through the eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are both standard, and you can also plan to have a rearview camera, push-button ignition and keyless entry, an eight-way power driver’s seat and cruise control. Every model has a color seven-inch information screen between the main gauges. There is standard emergency braking and Intelligent Forward-Collision Warning (I-FCW). I-FCW looks two cars ahead to help anticipate a possible emergency and react as needed.

What are the Maxima’s optional features?

The four higher trim levels have extra features, instead of options packages. The Maxima SV has heated front seats, heated outside mirrors with LED turn signals, front and rear parking sensors and leather upholstery. SL and Platinum models have adaptive cruise control, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, a dual-panel panoramic moonroof and an upgraded audio system. The sporty SR has big wheels and tires. The Platinum has a surround-view camera, moving-object detection and a driver-attention alert system.
